Maxxam Will Relocate

	Maxxam Inc., the parent company of two old-line Bay Area companies, KaiserTech 
Ltd. and Pacific Lumber Co., will relocate its corporate offices from Los Angeles 
to Houston by September 1. Maxxam also said that its president,  William C. 
Leone,  65, will retire on September 15. Maxxam Chief Executive Officer Charles 
E. Hurwitz will assume the president's duties.
