³Luncheon pays tribute to two²
February 11, 1993

	It seemed that all the city's fashionable women turned out for the 
Friends of Child Advocates Guild luncheon and Tootsies style show at the 
Westchase Hilton Hotel Tuesday. The sellout crowd of 430 paid tribute to 
honorees Barbara Hurwitz, left, and Elyse Lanier with Franelle Rogers, 
right, presiding as luncheon chairwoman. The event netted $37,000 for 
Child Advocates. Nellie Connally presented the awards to the honorees, 
who were accompanied by their respective husbands -- Charles Hurwitz and 
Mayor Bob Lanier. Even John Connally joined the party. Westchase Hilton 
underwrote the luncheon, which included a presentation of spring fashions 
from Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani and others.

 	The turnout included Gayle Bentsen, Suzy Johnson, Debbie Schnitzer, 
Virginia Steppe, Susan Whitworth, Mary Becker, Patty Parker, Karen 
Winston, Frann Lichtenstein, Ermy Borlenghi Bonfield, Laura Sakowitz and 
Nancy Dinerstein.
