 BODY:    MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 5 /PRN/ -- Jostens Inc. (NYSE: JOS) Today 
announced the election of  Lilyan H. Affinito,  vice chairman of MAXXAM 
Group Inc., to the Jostens board of directors.     Affinito  previously 
served as president and chief operations officer of MAXXAM (formerly 
Simplicity Pattern Co. Inc.) for more than 10 years, and earlier as the 
company's chief financial officer and as its controller.     Affinito  
was also associated for a number of years with Price Waterhouse in 
Pittsburgh and New York.    She serves on the board of MAXXAM, 
Caterpiller Inc., Chrysler Corp., the Ogilvy Group, New York Telephone (a 
subsidiary of NYNEX) and Tambrands Inc. Other board members include the 
Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Cornell University, Cornell 
Medical College, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Business 
Council of New York State.    She received a bachelor of science degree 
from Cornell University and a master's degree from the University of 
Pittsburgh. She is also a certified public accountant. She resides in New 
York City.    H. William Lurton, Jostens' chairman and chief executive
